The Value of Groups

Recently I noticed multiple clergywomen recommend one particular book: For Such a Time As This: An Emergency Devotional.  I went to my local bookstore to find out it was on backorder. "Good for them!" I thought.  When it arrived, I realized:

Don't read this book alone.  This book can be a catalyst and connector for people of faith, living in the dumpster fire of our world today.

I've led many clergy coaching book groups.  No matter the content, no matter the mix of people, I have seen deep connections happen in every single group.  Time and time again, participants reflect on the value and importance of the relationships that are built over time in these groups.

I want that. For you. This year.

After swiping closed my NYT app in disgust at the latest unbelievable news story, I turned back to this book. I reviewed the sections and chapters and reflection questions.  I thought about my past and current clients, and the group coaching I've led.  And I heard an invitation to offer something different –but something the world/the church/you may desperately need.

You Have Been Formed For Such A Time As This

You - in your fully, messy, individual humanity - have been called by God to your specific context, and equipped by God with your unique background, to do the work of this exact moment.  AND none of us have what it takes to do this work alone. Our call is so intense that we must reach out toward God and toward one another to support and encourage us along the way. It has become all too obvious that the 1950s church no longer exists – and the future church is not yet here. We are called to lead in this messy, heartbreaking, terrifying time. Truthfully, we do not have the capacity to be faithful to our call without investing deeply in our own health, support and wholeness.  That's where this group comes in:  It's a one-hour-a-week investment in yourself as a clergyperson, as a leader, as a Christian, and as a human in the midst of the dumpster fire of our world today.

Minimal Investment + Maximum Impact

I have been so convicted about the value of this wildly new 30-week group that I've drastically reduced the cost to ensure more clergywomen, non-binary and trans clergy and  are able to take part.  Using the standard calculation for my groups, the value of this group is $1,800.

I'm offering the entire 38 weeks for $300.

And not only that, I believe so strongly in the need for deep connection in this moment that I'm offering a $50 Bring-A-Friend discount for each pair of friends that sign up (each person pays $250 total).  Reserve your spot here.

FAQs

No, occasional missed sessions are expected.  Plan to attend at least 25 weeks.

Who Can Attend?

These groups are open to clergy of any denomination who are women, nonbinary, transgender, or 2-Spirit and who are pained by what our government is doing.  If we have enough interest, we will offer a separate nonbinary/trans/2-Spirit group.  Please note this when you reserve your space.

Yes! There is a $50 bring-a-friend discount.  If you and a friend both sign up, you each receive $50 off the $300 registration fee.  Each participant can use this once.  You and your friend do not need to register for the same session.  Reserve your spot here.
