The Power of Coaching: More Than We Can Ask or Imagine

Before noon today I had conversations with two clients in Canada, one in England, one in France as well as several in the US.  I also learned about a fabulous two-week certification program in Australia which I think I just might do.  I stopped everything to savor my giddy joyfulness of having work aligned with my values which also allows plenty of time for family and self.  I realized I was living into the "more than you can ask or imagine" when God works through us – and when we have a good coach to help us get clear in our call, our gifts, and our next steps into that preferred future.

I was trained as a coach just before COVID hit in early 2020.  Two dozen of us from around the country gathered in Texas with Chris Holmes of Coach Approach Skill Training for a week of intensive classes.  One of the participants and I got along swimmingly, and shortly after the course we decided to become coach for one another.

Kim's coaching has kept me grounded through the most turbulent years of my life: leading a congregation through COVID, an unplanned and unexpected career change in my mid-50s, breast cancer, becoming an empty nester, and beginning to imagine retirement in the not too distant future.

My coaching has supported Kim through an unexpected and unplanned career change, a life-altering long-term diagnosis, and a new relationship.  We are both in exponentially better places because of our coaching relationship.

Coaching helped me stay focused on my values at every articulation point of my life.  It helped me push past either-or thinking and helped me imagine a third way (again and again and again).  It gave me the safety of a What-If Space that allowed me to let go of preconceived notions about who I am and what I do.  Coaching was a steady presence, bringing me back to focusing on my gifts and skills and passions – and inviting me to wonder what I could do.

This is the impact of coaching on a life.  I invite you to set up a discovery call with me to experience it yourself.
